TESTING THE EFFICACY OF THE SOAR ELD Model

Working with 80 elementary schools in Southern California, the SOAR team will test the efficacy of an instructional capacity building model that targets the academic language and literacy needs of English learners in grades 3-6. The model focuses on building the capacity of mentors and teachers to effectively implement the California ELA/ELD Framework through the use of the SOAR ELD Teaching Frames. This project is a partnership with the American Institutes for Research (AIR).

A five-year study funded by the Institute of Education Sciences
